Upgrading a Furniture Retailer: Moving to Magento 2 and Streamlining Operations with Custom Solutions

Furniture Market of Cheshire wanted to upgrade their Magento 1 site and move to Magento 2 to improve technology and processes for better efficiency. My work between 2018 and 2021 included completing the delayed Magento 1 project, bringing all development in house, researching and recommending ERP solutions, and single-handedly migrated the store to Magento 2 with BrightPearl integration for order processing and stock control.

I developed the store's back-end modules, including a custom payment gateway for V12 Finance, and created a responsive front-end theme using HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, Knockout.js, and Less.

Additionally, I designed a logistics system to replace manual work, reducing route planning time from hours to seconds, and developed a PHP web application to transfer orders from BrightPearl ERP to their logistics partner, Expert Logistics.
